Electronics Technician (Milton Keynes Office)

Position Overview

We are currently looking for a multi-skilled person with good oral and written communication skills to join our talented team of technicians. The role involves a mix of calibration and repair of customer instrumentation, as well as manufacturing new products. The right candidate is required to thoroughly inspect customer equipment on arrival to identify any faults and to repair them. The role also involves assisting day-to-day manufacturing activities, which requires soldering components and delicate wires onto printed circuit boards, cable assemblies, and the final assembly of existing products.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manufacturing range of inspection products
  • Inspecting and reporting on the condition of customer equipment
  • Calibrating and repairing customer equipment
  • Testing sub-assemblies and parts using electronic test equipment such as multimeters
  • Creating new and updating existing production documentation
  • Ensuring customers receive their equipment within specified deadlines
  • Analyzing customer calibration data sent from around the world
  • Assisting day-to-day inspection and dispatch of new customer products
  • Working as part of the production team to achieve targets and KPIs
  • Ensure company quality policy and procedures are applied
  • Ensure company health and safety polices and procedures are applied

Essential Requirements

Work Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience working in an electronics manufacturing or testing environment
  • Ability to perform surface mount and through-hole soldering
  • Experience handling and wiring cables assemblies
  • Experience using electronics test equipment: oscilloscope, multimeter, lab power supplies, etc. 

Qualifications/Certifications

  • GCSE’S Grade c or above in mathematics, science, and English, or equivalent

Desirable Requirements

Qualifications/Certifications

  • ONC or NVQ level 3 in electrical/electronic engineering or equivalent
  • Electrical or electronic engineering apprenticeship 

Specific Skills/Knowledge

  • Knowledge of IPC-A-610
